June 26th Lights of Liberty Show

http://www.lightsofliberty.org/shexp.html Please join the Lehigh Alumni Club of Philadelphia as we experience the American Revolution, as it happened, where it happened ? through state-of-the-art technology at the Lights of Liberty Show, the first ambulatory sound and light show of its kind in the world. We will journey through Independence National Historical Park while the story is told through beautiful hand-painted images that are projected up to 50 feet high onto the buildings where the events actually took place over 230 years ago. The event is limited to 30 people, so please RSVP early! In the event of rain, payments will be refunded. The tour starts at the PECO Energy Liberty Center, across from Independence Mall at the corner of 6th and Chestnut Streets. Philabundance is the region's largest food bank and food rescue organization. They provide food to partner member agencies in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties in Pennsylvania, and Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer Counties in New Jersey. Philabundance works to fight hunger by collecting food from the Philadelphia Food Distribution Center, wholesalers, distributors, supermarkets, restaurants, local growers, importers and community organizations. Last year, they distributed more than 22 million pounds of food to feed those in need.

At the Berks Street site, we will help sort non-perishable food that comes from supermarkets, food drives and food donors. In addition, volunteers will help to stock shelves in the walk-through area where member agencies shop for food.

Special Olympics of Delaware County Bowling Event

December 10, 2006 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The Lehigh Club of Philadelphia is soliciting volunteers to cheer on athletes at this Special Olympic Bowling Event! Volunteers will assist athletes as they bowl three games. Volunteer registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The bowling event should begin by 9:15 a.m. After you check-in at the Volunteer Registration table, you will be assigned to a lane. The role of the volunteers is to encourage the athletes throughout the competition, making sure they take turns, follow rules, and stay motivated throughout the competition.
