ATTENDEES: Jill Anderson; Mike Glasheen; Tom Ramsey; Lee Wolfe; Andrew Hartmann; Gina Leffler; Justin Bayer; Joann Giangiulio
1) HAPPY HOUR-3/14/07-PUBLIC HOUSE Justin and Gina reported that this event went well. There were about 25 people in attendance. Approximately $50 were spent on appetizers. Justin will try to send emails to those persons who may be interested in helping and/or attending future events. Good job, Justin and Gina!
2) CRAYOLA FACTORY-4/21/07 Lee gave us an update on this event. So far, 3 people have signed up. This event is in conjunction with the Home Club. The RSVP date is April 6th. Lee needs two checks for McDonalds and the Crayola Factory. Jill will send out a reminder email again this week. Thanks, Lee, for organizing a great family event!
3) SPECIAL OLYMPICS-SWIM AND BASKETBALL EVENT-4/14/07 Joann reported she has about 14 volunteers signed up for this event. The event is scheduled to take place at Widener University in Chester, PA on that Saturday, in conjunction with a basketball event.
4) GOLF OUTING WITH LAFAYETTE COLLEGE Hillar was not here to give us the latest update on this event. We believe it is scheduled to take place on June 8th and a deposit may have been sent to Limekiln Country Club.
5) KING TUT EXHIBIT-FRANKLIN INSTITUTE-6/10/07 Mike updated the group on his planning of this event. Jill had the drafted invitation for the Board to review. The event will start at Mikes office at 11:00 a.m., at McCarter & English, located in the Mellon Bank Building. The conference room should be able to accommodate up to 50 persons. We have 35 tickets have been reserved for a 1:30 p.m. admission time. A 25% deposit may have been paid for by our Club, as well as Lehigh. Lehigh will front the rest of the money owed on the tickets. Adult tickets will be $45 (including brunch) and $35 for children, ages 4-11, (including brunch). Jill is working on securing a faculty member to speak at the brunch and tour the artifacts with the group. Audio tours can be purchased separately that day for $7, as well as the IMAX show. We can increase the number of tickets if they are available. Thanks for all the planning with this event, Mike! Lehigh will send out the email on 4/10/07; money due by 5/10/07 and event on 6/10/07.
6) FRESHMEN SEND-OFF-THURSDAY, JULY 26, 2007 Tom will be hosting this event at his house on 7/26/07 from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. The theme will be A Taste of Philadelphia. We will order soft pretzels, hoagies and Tastykakes.
7) PHILADELPHIA ART MUSEUM-RENOIR EXHIBIT This exhibit will be at the Art Museum from 10/4/07-1/6/08. This is the only US stop for this exhibition. Tom is looking to do the event possibly on a Thurs night (Oct 18th) or in early November. Tom will reserve 50 tickets and we will send out a Save the Date email.
8) RECEPTION WITH PRESIDENT ALICE GAST Jill is looking into possible dates and venues for the President. Tom offered to secure his country club for this event. More to come...
9) HAUNTED HAYRIDE/HALLOWEEN Gina may look into planning this event for the Fall for young alumni. Instead of a Haunted Hayride, we may look into doing a happy hour in Fairmount and tour the prison for Terror Behind the Walls.
10) POSSIBLE FALL EVENTS Lights of Liberty and Phil-A-Bundance. Melissas hayride at Linvilla Orchards also to take place in early October (more details to follow)
