Board Meeting Minutes - 10/24/06
Lehigh Alumni Club of Philadelphia
BOD Meeting Minutes
October 24, 2006
Location: Virtual by phone
Attendees: Joann Giangiulio, John Marren, Andrew Hartmann, Melissa Glozman, Hillar Puskar
Absent: Jill Anderson (LUAA), Justin Bayer (getting married this weekend!)
Summary of recent events:
- The Villanova tailgate went really well! There was a broad range of alums in attendance.
- The hayride was oversold; 23 signed up and 4 cancelled, 19 attended. Everybody enjoyed it, and it was the first club event that they participated in. One of the participants (Ms. Lee Wolfe) offered to arrange a spring family event.
- November 11th is the date of the ALS walkathon being done via the University. The email announcement for the event just came out.
- Lehigh-Lafayette: the game is at Lafayette this year but we did not make arrangements so there is no local telecast party this year. The University does not want us to hold events when the Lafayette game is at home.
- December 10th - Special Olympics bowling event, Joann is handling. It will be held at the Conchester Bowling Lanes which is in Aston PA (by Media). Joann does not know the time of the event yet but it is typically held in the morning.
- We will have another potential board member wine & cheese event, John offered to host it at his home again. The date will be Sunday January 15th from 2-4pm.
- The LUAA is asking us to hold a young alumni event in February in conjunction with the young alumni council.
- We discussed potential family events for the spring we decided to forego the Franklin Institute and try the Crayola Factory in Easton. Perhaps in conjunction with the Home Club? With a group of > 15 people the price is $8.40; they charge for ages 3+. There is a McDonalds on-site that can be reserved. April and May are their busiest months. Melissa will see if Lee Wolfe can organize this event.
- In conjunction with the LUAA there will be an introductory event for our club/region for Lehighs new President Alice Gast. The target for that event is late May/early June.
- The version of the presidents letter listed a Camden Riversharks baseball game in May. Its more likely that this would take place in the summer.
