Life gets busy, thats for sure.  With so much going on you might find yourself thinking "How can I possibly find time to even plan to do something more??!"  Ahhh :)  Though with so much to do it's often the time we volunteer with others or share with friends that we find most rewarding and enjoyable.  The Lehigh club of Philadelphia offers a lot of opportunity for that all, with the goals in mind of fun and continuing to develop the Lehigh Community after graduation.

Each year the Club plans social events (including many family events!), community service events, presents scholarship awards, and engages with students just entering Lehigh, and alumni both near and long graduated from South Mountain.  For those who get involved, some like the Board Members are integral in planning/hosting events locally and with Lehigh, others might volunteer at one event per year, others maybe attend the events, and yet others don't even know yet what the club is about.  (You, yes you! :)  if you're one of those people read below to find out more!):

Social Events - Meet & Greet Board Member Wine & Cheese, Happy Hours, Halloween Hayride & Pumpkin Picking, Wine Tasting, previous events include Lights and Liberty (light & sound show/tour through Independence National Historic Park, Rosenbach Museum & Library Tour, Special Evening at the National Constitution Center, and a Philadelphia Ale & Arts tour.  Other event ideas include a Hayride at Linvilla Orchards and Haunted House/Terror Behind the Walls tour at the Eastern State Penitentiary.

Community Service Events - Philabundance has been a consistent and enjoyable volunteer event for Lehigh Philly.  Also planned is volunteer time with Baptist Children's Services.  If you have a cause you feel strongly about and would like to raise it, please do!

Awards - Annual Book Award (Undergrad Essay Contest)

Events with Lehigh - Lehigh/Lafayette Telecasts, Freshman Sendoffs, Communications about local Career Networking Receptions, and more

So however much time you might like to enjoy with other alumni, families, and friends, there's surely an event or occasion to get involved.  Even if you just write to say "Hey, I heard about the Club and I live around Philadelphia."  that's great, we'd love to hear from you!
